Lakeview Housing

Lakeview Housing is supportive living for the person desiring to maintain an independent lifestyle while having access to services when needed.

Lakeview Housing opened on Dec. 1 2003. It is a 16-unit apartment with elderly waiver and group residential housing and also home health care. It is owned by the city of Balaton and managed by Ecumen, located in St. Paul, MN. Ecumen is Minnesota's largest non-profit provider of senior housing and services. The name Ecumen comes from the work Ecumenical, which in turn is derived from the root Greek word for house or home. Ecumen seeks to create home for older adults wherever they choose to live. Ecumen is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. At Lakeview we believe each tenant is special and will try to make this like his or her home. Lakeview Housing in Southwestern Minnesota is located across from beautiful Lake Yankton next to highway 14.

Lakeview has two bedroom, one bedroom and studio apartments available. A large patio on the front which faces the lake where there is fishing, boating, swimming and picnicking. A smaller patio on the back has a place to sit and enjoy the flowers and bask in the sun. Our apartments have been designed with safety and security with our seniors foremost in mind.

We furnish all utilities including cable TV. The only thing we do not furnish is your telephone. We have security pull cords in each room for emergencies. We also have a front door security system. We have laundry facilities, a lovely dining room and meals brought from the adjoining nursing home. We have a large kitchen off from the dining room for parties. We have garages for storage or for your car.

We offer extra services such as medication setup, with a registered nurse available, bathing, cleaning, therapy, activities, beauty shop, and church. We are connected to the nursing home and clinic. We also have a guest apartment for families to stay overnight in.
